Uri de Beer - Artist
Uri de Beer is an award winning, multi-disciplinary artist and architect who's works range between the pragmatic and spiritual.
Uri de Beer was born in Haifa Israel, and is a Technion graduate-Architect of Muenchen, Germany. He furthered his studies in City Planning and Fine Arts at the Kunst Academy of Düsseldorf. Fine Arts he studied at the class of Joseph Beuys, and with the American architect Bruce Goff. During 17 years Uri was employed in the capacity of Sede-Boker’s Engineer- Architect and won the Ben-Gurion Prize for planning and development of Sede- Boker in the Negev Desert (where Ben-Gurion settled and spent his latest years and was buried). In his work of art, Uri employs Fractals and digital art integrating his images with real life landscape and ecological, environmental problems.
While doing so it enables him to create a poetic world of his environmental monuments, sculptures and paintings. Uri’s art belongs and intermingles with the city’s – scape and with nature while using existing architectonic elements and turn it into pure art of environmental sculpture. During the past years he exhibited his works of art in Israel and abroad. De Beer is engaged in ecological and social issues reflected in his art. Many of his installations are created for the community and in co-operation with various communities (such as: Israeli and Arab school children, children and adults with special needs, people with Parkinson and Alzheimer disease).
